"From Script to Screen" | Key Words

Character: Artist
Environment: Laboratory
Prop: Kite
The main character will be a mouse, which is keen in making beautiful, unusual kites.
The backstory of this little mouse will be that. when he was little he always enjoyed watching how kites are flying above the city and how all mice admire their appearance. His childish goal is to make the best kites in the city. But as he grows up, his dreams falls apart, not finding time to cherish what he sees around him. But one day he notices a little child/mouse looking at the sky and pointing out to the kites as his mother is dragging him away. The main protagonist realises how times have changed and mouses forgot to be delighted by little things. He runs back home to his creative laboratory and starts making the most wonderful kites. Releasing them in the skies so all mice would notice them.

  1. slow down, Karolina... "The main character will be a mouse..." That's too definite and closed for day one! You need to have LOTS of ideas in the first few days... stay relaxed and playful!

    1. Sorry for it! Just when I come to think of laboratory I always think of mice and how they are used as subjects in experiments. And I felt like a mouse type character would fit perfectly here without any doubt.

  2. Maybe the artist works with a scientist in a laboratory to create a massive, colourful kite that can be seen from space, maybe the kite has another meaning behind it like to help people maybe it has solar panels or something on it but the scientist double crosses the artist and tries to use the kite for evil to completely abolish the human race?

    2. your welcome Maybe the artist has to then break into the scientists laboratory to try and use one of his (failed) experiments to use against him to stop him nuking the world, you could maybe introduce another character here :).

  3. An artist in a laboratory sounds like he is trying to invent art in a new way, maybe a chemical causes the art to come alive so a painting of kite comes alive and drips masses of paint over everything it flies over, causing property vandalism :)
